1988 Ballot Millot Volnay Taille Pieds
The nose shows a lot of deep structure, like a very dense tannin wine. Palette was expected, not only the wine was hard, probably due to the harsh tannins, there are also elevated acidity, which masks the fruits away. I cannot foresee this wine ever coming into balance, as acidity won't go away before the fruits. This the 8.5 stars is justifiable.
