1988 Domaine de La Romanee Conti La Tâche Grand Cru
FIRST DISAPPOINTING LA TACHE
I picked this 1988 to start off the red, as I never had the La Tache 88 before, and in my mind I keep telling myself to give 88 a chance. After tonight I'm not going to buy anymore burgundy 88, an overrated and often disappointing vintage.
Loads of deep dark cherries on the nose. First sip I was impressed , the wine literally melted in my tongue, very chewy and very long finishing. However it went totally downhill just after an hour; harsh, sourish, dry and weak. Was shocked.
