1988 Joseph Drouhin Griotte Chambertin Grand Cru
BORDERLINE
Another 1988 red burgundy sat next to the failed Dugat Py Charmes Chambertin 88, looked like the 88s were out of luck tonight with another borderline failure.
The nose was full of cupboard, first instinct was a corked bottle, but it wasn't, as it was accompanied by funk, which usually implies a bad bottle. Wasn't too bad on the palate; very sweet, structured, still tannic, Barolo alike.
What a frustrating start to taste these wines not in good shape that costs a bomb?!
