1988 Mas de Daumas Gassac Rouge
BORDEAUX CLONE?
Perhaps this was an offending subject line for the winemaker, although I still think it's a relevant comparison. I think if somebody blind me in a flight of Bordeaux, particularly Pomerol, I'll surely mistaken this as a Bordeaux wine!
Loads of blueberries and smoky characters on the nose (sounds like Pomerol?). Content was really pleasant and smooth, even better than Bordeaux's vintage of 1988. I really enjoyed and admire this Languedoc wine, 64000 bottles produced.
