100% BLIND MERLOT NIGHT!
I was fooled by the nose, extremely Bordeaux like and smokey that I thought it was a Pomerol, coupled with inky and graphite characters. Even though body was pleasant and very mellow, and at a ripe drinking window right now, it was a tad too simple a wine. It was an eye opener for me as I selected this theme after winning the wine of the night with Angelus 90 for the last outing. A great lesson as merlot has its own expressions at different geographical region!
