1990 Chateau Magdelaine Saint Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classe
Served double blind, the theme was 1990. The character of the wine was way off my knowledge: Nose was extremely minty, while the palette was extremely intense with very good fruits, relatively sweet and a lot of richness. I could not deduce this as Bordeaux, thinking it was American wine (the mint was a major lead for me). Was shocked to learn that it was one of JP Moueix property (alongside with Dominus), and this was my first Magdeline, fairly impressive.
