1990 Etienne Sauzet Puligny Montrachet 1er Les Combettes
Eleven Shades of Combettes 8/11
I didn't expect that there were more than 11 producers producing Combettes in Puligny Montrachet, not to mention we have a lineup of 11 bottles tonight, all from different producers! Speechless for my limited white burgundy knowledge.
Perhaps due to its age, sulphur and match stick was showing on top of fresh butter. Palate was extremely heavy butter taste, along with high acidity, albeit aged flavor. I personally don't trust Etienne Sauzet's premier cru very much.
