1990 Feytit Chateau Clinet Pomerol
NOT SURPRISED
Feytit Clinet is not a very well known Chateau in Pomerol, and definitely not a top wine so we were not expecting a lot from this label. But coming from a great Bordeaux vintage of 1990, we were hoping to be knocked back and be surprised. But unfortunately, it did not perform as great as we were hoping. Nose was very herbaceous with hints of blueberry. The palate was woody and a bit too rough for a Merlot based wine. I'm hoping that maybe it wasn't a great bottle and change my mind.

Medium ruby core, medium bright ruby rim.
This is a unique label that I do not come across often. And I am happy to have a surprise tonight, not on the nose, but in the palette. A 1990 Pomerol is a 5 star vintage, if u can't produce good wines in 90, you can forget to become a Pomerol star. Nose is filled with strong dark fruits, edging towards bitterness. The palette is extremely interesting, red and black fruits both yelling for my attention, but red fruits prevail with bouncy, dancing and lively character, that won my heart tonight.
