I never had a great Prieure Lichine, and I must declare this as the greatest Prieure Lichine ever produced. All the Prieure Lichine I’ve ever had were weak, body was thin, and palette is easily forgotten. But mine oh mine, this 1990 was really a Vintage of the Decade easily, and I swear 1990 beats the hell out of the famed 1982 vintage, as 1982 vintage most of the lower classified growth could not produce any great wines, but 1990 you can bet on even fifth growth to be giving you a memorable pleasure.

I have never been a fan of Prieure Lichine from Margaux, as most of the vintages that I have tasted were extremely light, weak and diluted! This was the first time I've tasted this label that gave me an impressive lasting impression. Nose was almost a write off for me as it was really muted, light fruity nose. Palate was where it really shined; very chewy quality fruits, expansive, relatively long finishing, smooth and pleasant, unbelievably tannins were still lurking around!
