1991 Chateau De Pez Saint Estephe
HOPELESS VINTAGE, BUT...
1991 was a disastrous vintage, in April, temperature dropped below minus 15 degrees! You can imagine how many vines can survive in such extreme temperature!
If the winemaker didn't thrash their grapes, you have to hats off to them. If they can make a drinkable wine, salute them! You have to salute Ch de Pez, it made a very decent red wine here, chewy fruits although finishing was short and shallow, while nose was woody (probably using oaks to mask the lack of fruits). Well done!
