I was eager to try some aged Loire Valley Savignon Blanc white, not sure if I'm out of luck or this was the norm. Read on ...
Nose of baked apple, a bit like a premox white burgundy. A sip and I was wondering if this was apple juice? The body was loaded with sourish green apple taste, although the typical slightly burnt butter taste also surfaced. Overall I felt that it doesn't have much aging capability, unlike Pavillon Blanc du Ch Margaux which was 100% Savignon Blanc as well can age better.
