1994 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Marc de Bourgogne
BIG LABEL, POOR TASTE
Obviously everyone knew about DRC's Romanee Conti, La Tache ... etc, but not many are aware that they also produced Marc de Bourgogne, a sort of Cognac/Armagnac character of hard liquor.
Unfortunately it didn't impress me a bit, a whiff and I was almost choked by the strong and sharp alcohol. Palate was extremely sharp, spicy and choking, totally unlike their elegant red wines. So don't be fooled by big labels, which can be disastrous for wines that's not their cup of tea.
