1994 Louis Jadot Gevrey Chambertin Clos Saint Jacques
AN AVERAGE PERFORMER This bottle was from a magnum, but it didn't help it elevate it's status. The only superior Clos St Jacques that I knew of came from Armand Rousseau, this quickly became a wannabe. Smell of woody sense, and then damn wet tobacco leaves, a bit too dry to my liking. As expected, the palette totally reflected the character of the nose; very dry, woody, elevated acidity and insufficient fruits to sustain the wine. Was it the vintage? As usual, I washed it down with creamy cheeses.
