1995 Calon Segur St Estephe
BORDEAUX 1995 REVISIT
Hosted a dinner with top quality Bordeaux 95 to see how it has evolved 20 years on. Overall it looks like it's a St Emilion vintage, as the top 3 goes to 1. Angelus 2. Figeac 3. Haut Brion. But my #1 favorite was Pichon Baron. I rated this Calon Segur quite highly (ex chateau provenance): fine oak, elegant, earthy, sandalwood, very fruity nose. Tannic, very dry, slightly merlot driven, lean, very fruity. Keeps evolving throughout the night. Good effort.

Elegant and powerful, well done Dark, well concentrated with a nose of plum, black fruit, leather, cigar box and vanilla, strong tannins. Honest wine
