1995 Chateau La Gomerie Saint Emilion Grand Cru
I was told this wine was made of 100% merlot, very rare for a St Emilion (the other label with 100% merlot that I know of was the defunct La Crusiere), so I was eager to try. It does hv the Pomerol nose, coupled with dark chocolate and a hint of coffee. The palette, even though I feel it was still at adolescent stage, was vibrant, still tannic and comes with an interesting mouth feel. Very untypical Bordeaux wine. I will hunt for more vintages to try.
