1996 Dom Perignon
PERIGNON SERIES
We drank this next to a Dom Perignon P2 96, and was totally shocked by the vast difference!
This one was much more ready to drink, it was perhaps drinking an ice water (this one) versus sucking an ice cube (for P2).
Nose was very fruity, very strong nose, and slightly yeasty. Palate was very fruity, very flavorful, with a tinge of lemon bitterness towards the end. I can tell this one was scattered all over the place (as compared to P2 focused), its like a champagne without leadership.
