1996 Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens
Hubert de Montille, one of the best winemaker in Pommard Les Rugiens, slightly disappointed me with this relatively decent vintage 1996. The nose was decent with freshly crushed cherries and strawberries. However, the palette is definitely not my expectation. Tasted rather dry and woody, seems like the fruits are trying extremely hard to show up. I think the wine has shutdown for now and awaiting the right window frame to be drinkable. I think it as decent potential but right now let's put it to sleep.
