1996 Gruaud Larose Saint Julien
TRADITIONAL
It's been a while since I drank this bottle. I was still fond of the Cordier era, whereby they made wines that's only ready to drink after a minimum of 30 years. I still vividly remembered the 79 and 81, and perhaps the 61, these vintages can last eternity, classic and backward, never outdated.
The modern 96 was not under Cordier anymore. They retained parts of the classic character like the nose of smoke and very light roses nose. Palate was so forward, very easy to drink and pleasant.
