1996 Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Brut

I was not quite impressed with this top end of Veuve Cliquot. Smelled and tasted like average champagne Joe. Slightly overdose amount of yeast on the nose. The palette didn't impress me much either, lacks focus and precision, a bit tired too. The overcrowded champagne makers are in for a fierce competition, especially on the top level. Veuve Clicquot has to stay focused, otherwise nobody will buy their top range anymore.
