1997 Dry River Wines Limited Chardonnay
Served blind (those who knows this MW candidate should know only he kept all these impossible to find kiwi wines, gosh, 97 kiwi white!). Loads of tropical fruits, pineapple, jackfruit and I swear I even get durians on the nose! Very oily. The color was very dark yellow, like light golden Sauternes. Palette was quite a treat, soft and melts in the mouth easily. I can't guess anything right here, new world did not even cross my mind, not to mention 97 Martinborough!
