1997 Gaja Barbaresco
MEDICINAL
Choke full of medicinal nose, clinical and certainly reminiscent of a cough syrup. Despite the hospital nose, palate was extremely pleasing, soft and smooth, decent length and good depth, despite a bit medicinal still, overall a very pleasant wine that really showed it's crystal clear character. A well made Zegna suit, tailored to perfection. Served from a magnum. Perhaps at its peak in a decade's time.
