1997 Masseto Toscana
GREAT, BUT....
Masseto is a Masseto, it's hard not to like it, although there are variations to it due to Mother Nature. 97 probably one of the weaker vintages of Masseto.
Very balanced nose but tends towards slight sweetness but also slight barnyard.
Palate is very sweet with very intense fruits, pure and elegant, although there's some Shiraz character lingering around. Wine lingers on for long, long finishing. A bit hot and spicy. Doesn't seem to last (perhaps bottle condition) as fruits fading fast.
