1997 Rossignol Trapet Petite Chapelle Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru
NOT CLOSE TO GRAND CRU LEVEL..
I posted a 5 star notes on the Chapelle Chambertin by the same maker. I'm not sure if this 1er CRU Petite Chambertin is any similar to the Grand Cru (will someone enlighten me please?), but style wise, it's far apart from the GC. Nose of wet stone, crushed rocks and evolved into forest fruits. Palette was mildly impressive, typical burgundy palette, forward fruits, although it benefited in the glass and mellowed down and turned pleasant within 15 mins.
