1998 Jean Grivot Richebourg Grand Cru
Huge wine, both the nose and the palette. Loads of dark and powerful cherries on the nose. We had it decanted, as my friend told me it will take 2 hours to open up, and when it does, it will explode. It started really lean and woody although I can feel the great potential of the fruits. However it really took forever to open up. We reached the 2 hour mark and the wine hardly evolved and surely no explosion. We ran out of patience and drank it all up.
