1999 Jamet Cote Rotie
ELEGANCE WITH CLASS
This was wine of the night for me tonight on a theme on Northern Rhone wines. Absolutely great Cote Rotie. It has this elegance that's not easily reproduced in other Cote Rotie wine, mingled with great purity. Johan decanted this for 3 hours! Much appreciated, otherwise we're drinking ink. The nose turned from faint subdued nose to mint and eucalyptus, stemmy and vegetal. I was told they didn't de stem the wine during crushing of the grapes which I was extremely surprised. Great wine!
