1999 Tua Rita Giusto di Notri Rosso Toscana
I expected this to be a big wine, and upon decanting, I was right. Inky, chunky, big, bold, rough. Since I hv time, I left it in the decanter for at least 2 hrs, and it evolved; I was much happier now, the initial intensity got tamed down to be pleasant and easy going. Initially it only suited rough Italian food like pizza, but after the 2 hr decanting, it pairs better with dishes like steak and fries. Great vintage, it'll age gracefully for another 10+ years easily.
