2000 Etienne Sauzet Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru
We had a White Burgundy Grand Cru tasting this afternoon. Totally awesome to host this event, extremely rare to have such a tasting. As a host, I'm proud.
This bottle was almost my wine of the day until something else showed up (more on next post). The nose was great! Like lying in a bed of flowers. I loved the way the wine was presented, very rich and elegant and ultimately extremely balanced. I thought it would be a Chevalier Montrachet. Unfortunately the good time didn't last, faded away in an hour.
