2000 Pierre Yves Colin Morey Batard Montrachet Grand Cru
We had a White Burgundy Grand Cru tasting this afternoon. Totally awesome to host this event, extremely rare to have such a tasting. As a host, I'm proud.
I was frankly disappointed with this Batard Montrachet. Nose was really muted, very faint oak and honeycomb that's all. Palette behaved like a premier cru, not rich nor fat, character of Batard. Instead, fruits are lean and flat. It didn't recover at the end of this flight so I didn't have very good opinion on it, sadly.
