2001 Tolaini Toscana Picconero Tenuta Montebello
ITALIAN CHARM
This wine is their higher end super Tuscan from the Tolaini estate. It is made with a typical Bordeaux blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, but despite this, it still had an Italian charm.
A clean strong nose of black cherries, plum and pepper spice. This was followed by very big and muscular tannins that would dry your mouth for days, yet still show a fruity side on the palate with black cherries taking the lead. I wouldn't mind having this alongside a juicy steak.
