2002 Gruaud Larose Saint Julien
BEEFY STOCKS!
I have been drinking Gruaud Larose for as long as I can remember. The old style Gruaud Larose under the Cordier family took decades to be readied, but since the new ownership took over (probably in the 90s), the style has changed significantly to be much more approachable.
02 wasn't a great vintage, but Gruaud Larose maintained it's standards. Very floral and beefy on the nose. Palate was beefy, chunky like a piece of good steak, very mellow and pleasant to drink, no need to wait 30 years.
