2002 Joseph Drouhin Meursault Premier Cru Charmes
RIPE VINTAGE
Coming from a good and ripe vintage, one would expect a lot. However sometimes we have to realize negociants are not iron man all rounders. Drouhin excel in Marquis de Laguiche Montrachet, but the Meursault probably required some more effort.
Very ripe nose, mingled with ripe and cooked fruits, expected of a ripe and forward vintage. Palate was very pomelo fruits driven, with a tinch of bitter pomelo skin taste. Not complex nor layered, just an average Joe’s daily wine here.
