2002 Pichon Lalande Pauillac
GREEN VINTAGE
Pichon Lalande has a more feminine style of wine compared to others in Pauillac. But this 2002 was really powerful and tannic. Found out 2002 did not have great weather, which resulted in a lot of green, unripe flavours, and rustic tannins.
A mix of black currants, black cherries and vanilla greeted my nose. The palate was tannic but toned down after a while and revealed good structure. The green notes were evident on both nose and palate, but still a big wine, rarely found in an off vintage

A silky, dense and deep colored wine with aromatics hints of fruit.
A big wine. It was so inky when I drank it 5 yrs ago, but now tamed down a lot more & getting pleasant. Loved Lalande, any vintage!
