2003 Le Macchiole Messorio
100% BLIND MERLOT NIGHT!
This was a really funky bottle. Having tasted 4 Messorio tonight, I was persuaded this could be a bad bottle. Some said it was corked or maderized, I found neither. It had a unique medicinal nose with strong antibiotics in it, although it had some wet cupboard nose as well. Palette was off too, Nebbiolo liked style, very antibiotics on the palette. I am not sure what the reasons are for this off bottle, too bad with poor provenance I guess.
