2003 Pierre Usseglio Chateauneuf du Pape
HUMBLED
Guessing this bottle in a blind tasting was a disaster for me. A whiff and I declared it as Barolo from Piedmont. I took a sip, very matured, very dark fruits, and very enjoyable, but it has this dry tannins lurking around on my palate. I still stick to Barolo. The color looked faded, so I still stick to Barolo in the 70s. The host told me I was quite far off. Re aligned my views, still guessing all over the place... was really surprised to be CDP, I guess the hot 03 made a lot of difference!
