2004 Chateau Gloria Saint Julien Cru Bourgeois
I love Chateau Gloria, I believe it’s a good and consistent Cru Bourgeois in Bordeaux. 2004 is not a great vintage for Bordeaux, thus I popped this bottle and decanted for an hour to put it to test. Bouquet of classic Bordeaux of ripe red fruits, with slight smoky cigar nose. Palatte wise it’s definitely under large influence of oak and vanilla, as I believe the large infusion of oak is to mask away the weakness of 2004 vintage. It’s not as bad as I thought, for sure it’s drinkable, though the fruits are slightly weak, but it’s still acceptable. I think for the price, Chateau Gloria is a great wine to be on any Bordeaux lovers’ drinking list. I think for 2004 it has punched above many classified growths quality.
