2004 Louis Carillon & Fils Les Combettes Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru
MISCONCEPTIONS
Many drinkers used red burgundy vintages to judge the white burgundy quality, which was totally wrong and misleading others. I can tell you 2004 was poor in red, but was exceptionally great vintage for whites!
As proven, I mistaken this 1er Cru as Grand Cru when I had my sips. The elegance, balance and richness easily matched Grand Cru level, thick and lush, really buttery. Francois Carillon has taken over from his father this superb plot and producing head spinning Combettes as well.
