2004 Monbousquet Bordeaux Blanc
IT'S BEEN A WHILE....
Since I've been drinking a lot of White Burgundies, it's good that I revisit Bordeaux Blanc once in a while to get the contrast. Contrast indeed! The low acidity made Bordeaux Blanc tasted like a wine coming from Southern Rhone, bold, oily and with a lot of flavor going on underneath.
This Blanc came from the right bank of St Emilion which was quite rare, as they hardly produced whites. Kudos to the winemaker at Monbousquet to take the bold step to create a white.
