2005 Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint Jacques
From a top Burgundy producer, Armand Rousseau wines tends to grow on you. His style can appear light in youth, the offering is usually fine structured with elegance and stamina.
Light notes on the nose, as the wine needed some opening. I left it in the glass for about 30 minutes, and it showed bit more red fruits, a bit prune like. In the mouth, fine grip, full body and profound. The fruits are in good balance with tannins and acidity.
For a 2005 vintage, this wine can certainly develop.
Ample fruit, with long finish.
