2005 Caiarossa Toscana
One of the most interesting wines that was in the tasting is this Super Tuscan from Maremma. Upon doing research on this bottle, I discovered that it is comprised of 8 different grape varietals! Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Alicante, Syrah and Mourvedre. Initially smelled like plastic balloon but opened up to blackberry, vanilla and spice. Palate was filled with tannins, spice and quite a long finish. Interesting story but underwhelming content.
