2005 Chateau dAiguilhe Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux
HARSH AND DENSE
I enjoyed the nose, thinking it was using some high quality oak barrels to age the wines. But I held back after a sip, the harshness and denseness of the wine set me back on my thought process, was this really a Bordeaux? I didn't think so.
It was from around Bordeaux, that made sense, it was so dense it was almost like squid inks! Although somehow it mellowed down after an hour of decanting, and was much more pleasant thereafter. The initial image of harsh and dense character was stuck!
