2005 Chateau du Tertre Margaux
Served from a magnum and I decanted it for 1.5 hours, a whiff and I felt that I just stepped into a pharmaceutical store, as the drug smell was so prominent I absolutely have no doubt the vine was fed with chemicals (this was meant to be a teaser, as I understood many Bordeaux chateaus have turned biodynamic nowadays). Content was also indisputably pharmaceutical notes, albeit with very soft notes and relatively easy to drink. Frankly I was expecting a lot more from one of the greatest vintages of Bordeaux as I vividly still very fond of Chateau Palmer’s mind blowing 2005.
