2005 Jean Marc Pillot Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers
UNRIPE MANGOES
After I tasted Fontaine Gagnard Chassagne Montrachet Les Vergers 2011, I decided to also taste Jean Marc Pillot’s wine from the same plot. JM Pillot really put Fontaine Gagnard to shame when it comes to Les Vergers, it has everything of Fontaine Gagnard, plus the taste is much more evenly spread out on the palette, with a lot more ripe fruits. However, the taste do remind me a bit of unripe mangoes, akin to the famous salad dish you find in Thai restaurants. Overall, quality was impressive when compared to the more famous big name producer Fontaine Gagnard.
