2005 Smith Haut Lafitte Pessac Leognan Blanc
JASMINE... I had too much white burgundies lately, so for a change, I picked Bordeaux Blanc tonight. Upon the first pour, I got a bouquet of Jasmine flowers on the nose, with amazing concentration. However on subsequent top up of my glass, the floral nose were not as prominent. Bordeaux Blanc has lower acidity and more blunt compared to white burgundy. This bottle is no difference. Loads of very ripe lemon zest, steamed pear soaked in honey, as well as the bitter finishing which resembles pomelo skin.
