2005 Verget Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru
GREAT VALUE
My 2nd bottle of Corton Charlemagne from Verget, albeit different vintage. I find that it's truly undervalued as it's really dirt cheap for a Grand Cru quality. I blinded my friend who only drank top wines and he thought highly of this.
Palate was really crisp, soft, easy and pleasant. The evolution kicked in slowly, although it showed the very classic style of Corton Charlemagne evolution at glacier pace. It took 2 solid hours to turn buttery, and certainly can fool any Puligny drinkers.
