2007 Marc Kreydenweiss Alsace Grand Cru Moenchberg Pinot Gris
MARC KREYDENWEISS #3
I tasted 4 labels from this producer, mostly slightly above average performance, although I found the Pinot Gris very interesting and a league above other producers. Surprised from a relatively unknown producer from Alsace.
This was their best Pinot Gris, strong aged nose, French toast, roasted butter, charred walnut with barrel aging. Very sophisticated and unique.
Palate was quite opposite of the nose: fresh, slightly sweet, pineapple. Not a very typical Pinot Gris. Good effort.
