2007 Olivier Bernstein Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru
NEW GEM
Olivier Bernstein's debut vintage of 2007 and I was honored to get a glimpse of it. This upcoming winemaker uses old vines and even unique oak toast (whereby the barrel maker will taste and customize the toast level to suit the wine). The result was obvious: structured, intense wine with very suitable low acidity and not much oak, thus the wine is very harmonious. I do enjoy the wine over smoked duck.
