2008 Castello dei Rampolla Sammarco
Tuscany wines have always been a hit or miss for me. I tried the 2004 vintage of this a couple of years back and said it was difficult to find a reliable Tuscan producer but for me, this is one of them.
Nose of dark cherry, red berries, bitter vegetable, pepper and slight barnyard at the start. Palate had big juicy red fruits and spice with velvety tannins and good acidity. Solid finish. One of the most decent Super Tuscans Ive had!
