2008 Pierre Morey Meursault Charmes 1er Cru

Pierre Morey is a living legend in burgundy. He started his career for Domaine Leflaive in 1988 and left in 2008. He has created so many memorable and legendary Leflaive wines that has made so many wine connoisseurs speechless. Can he extend his legendary skills to his own production? My friend popped this bottle and served blind. A sip and rightfully it belonged to Meursault with low acidity and loads of minerality. My friend says, hold your horses, don’t jump to conclusion on the acidity, wait for the wine to warm up. I was instantly puzzled, as normally acidity is most pronounced while the wine is chilled. I just took regular sip and after half a dozen of sips, I suddenly felt the ultra elevated and searing acidity, and this occurred when the wine came to the right temperature! Such unique winemaking skill alone undoubtedly put Pierre Morey as a living legend, no wonder he has done so many amazing vintages of Leflaive wines!
