2009 Chateau du Tertre Margaux
QUITTING
I always claimed that if Mother Nature gave you her best, and you couldn't utilize the best of what she has given you [in terms of winemaking skill], you should quit making wines.
Served from a magnum, this was very disappointing. Nail varnish and lightness on the nose. Palate was exactly like the nose, very light, very woody , totally unexciting content. This was very typical Du Tertre style, I don't understand why the winemaker cannot blend in some excitement, even from a great vintage?!
