2009 Chateau Giscours Margaux

I tasted the 2016 version, and also the La Gaffeliere 09 on the same day, thus I do have a very objective view of Giacours 09.
Sadly, it struggled to keep up with both of the above mentioned. Nose wise albeit lean fruits to start off with, it did improve to become a fruity nose.
Palate struggled against the chunky and mighty La Gaffeliere, and even shy against its own 2016 siblings. Against La Gaffeliere, the fruits were totally suppressed. Against 2016, it was too woody and lean.
